“So many times over the years, I’ve had women say to me, “I wish I could do that! I started thinking…” It’s not hard, you just have to know where to start.”
I moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1991. I worked at A.J.’s Fine Foods for 7 years starting in the floral department and then moved onto other departments. In the meantime, I owned a small business called “Encased Beauty” that specialized in weddings and special occasions.
I really enjoyed working with flowers, but became “burned-out”. In 1998, I decided to go back to school and become a Surgical Technologist. I also currently work at an outpatient surgery center in Glendale, AZ.
I truly love my job, but I never fully lost the desire to design and work with flowers. So I decided in 2004 that I wanted to teach floral design. I wanted to share all of my knowledge and skill that I had learned over the years with others. And to further my own knowledge and skills, I have received my certification as a Master Florist as well.
I started Create Yours, LLC. I have taught in churches, homes, country clubs, and other various businesses. I have also taught classes at Paradise Valley Community College in their fall and spring semesters.
I get SO excited about teaching floral design! I receive so much enjoyment from others after they have created their own unique arrangement. They are excited and thrilled by what they have learned and accomplished. They take their arrangements to their homes, to their mothers, friends, or offices. The people they share them with are impressed by their work, moved by their gift that was given to them with a personal touch, and overjoyed with the beauty that only fresh flowers can give.
